We have an issue with drivers forgetting their transponders during qualifying and our rulebook states that we must remove them. Many times we have spares sitting in the pit lane to give them so they can get back out and get a time. We currently use the Mechanical (Meatball) flag, but often drivers take extra laps thinking it's a problem with their cars but still want to get a good time in. We need a flag to signal them it is a transponder, not mechanical, issue. (An 'alternate mechanical' black flag with yellow X was suggested.) That will work perfectly!!! C.W.
